Documentary: Mr. Nobody against Putin

We warmly invite you to the screening of the documentary film “Mr. Nobody vs. Putin”, a Danish-Czech co-production offering a unique and authentic perspective on one of the defining moments of recent history. The film has attracted international festival attention for its powerful and genuine portrayal of current events.

The screening will be attended in person by the film’s producer, Radovan Síbrt, who will have an Q&A discussion with the audience after the screening.

When Russia launches a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, primary schools across Russia are transformed into recruitment centers for the war. One brace teacher faces the ethical dilemmas of working in a system defined by propaganda and violence. He secretly starts filming what is really happening at the school where he teaches. Pasha's footage reveals the transformation of Russian society, Putin's iron grip on the population and the heartbreaking moments when former students are sent to the front line. The film is a reminder that courage can take many forms when all seems lost.

Annotation:

Pasha lives in a small Russian town and is a beloved teacher at the local primary school. When the invasion of Ukraine begins, his job changes completely. He is forced to organize activities in accordance with the new war curriculum and document them on camera. The demands on teachers increase, Pasha's former pupils leave for the front and the atmosphere in the town thickens. Frustrated, Pasha decides to fight as best as he can. He starts filming not only state-mandated activities, but also everyday life in and out of school to show the world the impact of the war and the regime on the community. Mr. Nobody Against Putin provides a unique insight into the Russian propaganda machinery and tells the gripping story of a man who decided to risk everything in order not to compromise his values.
