We cordially invite you to the exhibition of photographs Elegantia et Motio by Czech photographer Tamara Černá. This exhibition was created in Czechia with the participation of excellent dancers not only from Czechia, but also from Italy, Austria, Taiwan and other countries. The dancers who have lent their body and soul to my images are taken out of their traditional theatrical roles - transported into a real or dream space where their movement becomes a narrative about all of us.
Tamara Černá, known under the pseudonym SofiG, has combined two main directions of her work - ballet and photography. Thanks to her many years of experience as a prima ballerina, ballet master, choreographer, and director, Tamara can sensitively perceive the mindset of dancers and work with them to capture not only the beauty of movement, but also deep human emotions - loneliness, love, hope, or the strength to overcome obstacles.
Her goal was not to create mere aesthetic images, but to offer a view of the world that we all share, and to transmit positive energy and inspiration. The dancers are not portrayed in traditional theatrical roles or set design. They appear in real or dreamlike settings where their movement becomes a universal language of emotion. Tamara Černá thus expresses her own perception of ballet and art itself through their bodies.
The exhibition presents only a part of her broader work, which also includes portrait, reportage and documentary photography. This selection also aims to bring joy, hope, dreams and the desire to plan new beginnings. Tamara's work is known in many countries around the world and some of it has already found its place in Israeli private collections.
We hope that you will find a visit to this exhibition a pleasant and inspiring experience.
