Exposition Birds of Passage - Stories of the Czech Migration

Under the direction of Renáta Fučíková, the students from the Studio of Didactic Illustration at the Ladislav Sutnar Faculty of Design and Art (University of West Bohemia) in Plzeň have created hundred portraits of important migrants who left Czechia for abroad or, conversely, came to Czechia from abroad to search for new home there. Thanks to the cooperation of Sutnarka and the Czech Centres, who are bringing the exhibition abroad, you will have the opportunity to see portraits of important figures of the Jewish diaspora, the Czech non-Catholic exile, refugees from Nazism and Communism, victims of forced displacement, current expats and new immigrants seeking safety in our country.

In past months, visitors have had the opportunity to view portraits that display important figures of Central European history, science, art, architecture, business or sport, and which at the same time emphasize the importance of the exchange of ideas, traditions and intermingling of cultures.
