Opening Night of the TLVFest 2022

On Thursday, October 27, the seventeenth year of TLVFest, the International LGBTQ+ Film Festival in Tel Aviv, was introduced.

The TLVFest International Film Festival, which focuses on films with LGBTQ+ themes, started its opening night at Tel Aviv Cinematheque. The festive opening included a speech by the festival director and the presentation of the festival award to actor Daniel Franzese. Eventually, there was a screening of the Israeli film In Bed.

The goal of the festival is to present independent LGBTQ films that would otherwise not reach the Israeli audience - whether through cinemas, television, or DVD - at all. In addition to film screenings, the festival offers discussion panels with local and foreign filmmakers and other special events. This year's edition will present a record of 182 films from 39 countries, one of which will be also the Czech film Where Butterflies Don't Fly by director Roman Němec.
