From the end of October, a new exhibition called Water & Civilization is to be seen at the 'Gallery on the Fence'. Czech Ambassador Martin Stropnický also attended the festive opening, which took place at the Czech Embassy.
A selection of fifteen panels from the traveling exhibition Water & Civilization, which has visited many Czech cities, will present this element in many contexts in the 'Gallery on the Fence' in Tel Aviv.
Water will be presented in religious, technical, economic, or political contexts, but above all, in the ecological and natural one. According to the curator of the exhibition, Miroslav Bárta, based on current trends and available scientific data, sea, and ocean levels will rise and a significant part of states, and sometimes even entire states, will disappear. The exhibition thus not only introduces the importance of water in the history of human civilization but also encourages one’s reflection on the role of water in human life and the approach to it. The curator of the exhibition, Miroslav Bárta, is a Czech Egyptologist and archaeologist. Since 2011, he has been conducting research at the Abusir archaeological site in Egypt. In the years 2013–2019, he was the director of the Czech Institute of Egyptology.
We would like to thank to Smartwings for supporting this exhibition.
The exhibition will be on view at Zeitlin 23, Tel Aviv until January 15.
