Festive exhibition opening of “Elegantia et Motio” – A celebration of grace, movement, and artistic vision

On 15 May 2025 the Czech Centre Tel Aviv hosted the festive opening of Elegantia et Motio, a captivating outdoor photography exhibition by Czech artist Tamara Černá, also known as SofiG. The event took place at our Gallery on the Fence, transforming the outer walls of the Centre into an open-air stage where dance and photography met under the Tel Aviv sun.

Several visitors gathered to celebrate the opening, enjoying a relaxed atmosphere filled with conversation, art, and a glass of wine in hand. Guests strolled along the exhibition, pausing in front of each photograph to take in the elegance of Tamara Černá’s vision. Her images, portraying ballet dancers in motion within natural and urban landscapes, sparked admiration and reflection among the audience.

The photographs go beyond traditional stage settings, capturing dancers in gardens, forests, and even concrete city corners — blending the refinement of classical ballet with the spontaneity of life outside the theatre. The result is a unique dialogue between grace and environment, body and space.

The opening not only offered a moment of cultural appreciation but also invited passersby to engage with art in a new, accessible way — right on the street. We were delighted by the positive reactions and warm feedback from our guests, many of whom expressed their appreciation for the poetic and unexpected beauty of the works.

We warmly invite everyone to visit Elegantia et Motio, on view at the Czech Centre Tel Aviv until August 2025. Let the photographs guide you through a world where movement lingers in stillness and dance finds its place in the everyday.
